Please find below the announcement of an artist initiatives (artist collectives) fair which will take part in 20 days in Istanbul. There are still free spaces left for participants from Europe or elsewhere.

It is a good possibility for the artists to visit Istanbul, the 11^th Istanbul biennale, present themselves, meet other initiatives and enjoy. The participation is free of charge and there is also a grant of approx. 230€ for travel and accommodation. I would be very happy if you could inform artist initiatives you know who might be interested. If you know any, please urgently, as very short time is left (The application deadline is in a few days).

1^st International Artist Initiatives Istanbul Meeting

“Alternative to what?”

02nd-06th October 2009

Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture Agency is organizing the 1^st International Artist Initiatives Istanbul Meeting in cooperation with Art Pie as a parallel event of the 11th International Istanbul Biennial, between 02nd-06th October 2009 in Istanbul 2010 Art Production Center Kadırga. It will include a fair, discussions and presentations. The general aim of the meeting is to create a communication platform among artist initiatives from various European and other countries for sharing information, experience and best practices and in order to build new cooperations on the way to Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture.

The acceptance to the applications are limited with 21 artist initiatives. Please fill as soon as possible. You can apply also for per diem grant.

 

The deadline for the applications 15th September 2009.
