medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
If anyone has a jpeg that's too dark, send me the image OFF-LIST and I can PhotoShop it into shape. Their auto fix is amazing and one can tinker even further with the image. Disclaimer: I am not a sales rep for the company.
So don't worry about taking pictures that seem too dark or, worse, ditch ones that seem too this or that. If it's worth photographing, it's worth trying to fix.
I too can offer some photography tips if you contact me off-list.

As I recall the national museum - and another that I canīt remember the name of -
was full of fantastic medieval altarpieces. Furthermore, photography WAS permitted,
for a small fee, as long as you donīt use flash. So be sure you have a camera that
is sensitive enough to take pictures with artificial lighting (Iīm happy to recommend my current one if you are intrested) Have a great time,
Meg Cormack

What's NOT to see in Budapest?

The Cathedral and Parliament building would be on top of my list, but also, there is a large monument built by the Communists up on a hill overlooking the
Buda side of the Danube.  I remember being quite impressed with the monument and the view, and reading in the literature on this site that the Hungarians
believed in preserving all their monuments, no matter who built them . . . so its definitely a unique place.

Backpacking my way through Budapest, staying with a family out in a Socialist housing block on the East side of the Pest side, wandering the streets all a
year after the Iron Curtain came down is one of the most amazing experiences of my life. . . Its an amazingly beautiful city with a remarkable culture.

. . .   the stories I could tell . .

The National Museum is worth a view, too.
