medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Dear all,
First of all, I apologize if you're getting this in duplicate. I accidentally sent it off to the Medievl listserve. You're the ones I want help from though.
Looking for a bit of research help. I want to get just
some basic facts on the Dominicans of Evreux - when they were founded,
who the prior was, etc.; by 1299 they were dedicated to Louis, but I
need more than that (when were the originally founded, if before, if
not, by whom, etc.). So, I went to Gallia Christiana, and was
surprised to get no help there - a passing mention in the section on
bishops. I thought GC was organized according to diocese, but didn't
see anything for Evreux tehre. I've ordered Chapotin from ILL, and am
hopeful that he'll be of help. But where would you all look? I'm just
stumped as to where to go. Any more ideas out there?
