This
is an exciting opportunity to be part of a £13m initiative which brings
together four British universities – Lancaster, Nottingham, Cardiff and
Southampton – to develop world-leading work in the field of Operational
Research (OR).
The
LANCS Initiative, supported with a Science and Innovation Award from the
Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), will bring about a
significant expansion of the national research base in OR to build new research
capacity and help UK industry to compete in the global market.
Lectureship:
Candidates must
hold a PhD in a relevant subject and must have a publication record in OR which
demonstrates international excellence. Candidates with experience of
theoretical developments within the principal research themes of the LANCS
Initiative are particularly welcome.
Postdoctoral
position: The
postdoctoral research assistant will undertake OR research within one or more
of the LANCS research themes. Candidates should be qualified to PhD level in a
related subject and be able to demonstrate a strong and relevant research
record.

Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Operations

The
Department of Management Science is seeking to recruit a talented new colleague
at either the Lecturer or Senior Lecturer level.
You
should have research interests to complement those of the existing Operations
Management (OM) group, whose interests span both qualitative and quantitative
approaches and include supply chain management, green logistics, product
customisation, service operations, health research and process improvement
approaches. Teaching and administrative opportunities shared by the OM group
include undergraduate and postgraduate student groups, including MBA students
and students on the recently introduced MSc in Logistics and Supply Chain
Management.
