Applications are invited for a position in the Department of Psychology at the University of
California, San Diego (www.aronlab.org). The position is full-time for 1 year, with the
possibility of annual extensions up to five years. It entails working on a grant entitled:
“Longitudinal assessment of frontostriatal circuitry in presymptomatic Huntington’s disease”,
held by Dr. Adam Aron, Dr. Anders Dale, and others at UCSD. The postholder will be
responsible for analyzing functional, structural, and diffusion tensor data as well as writing
up the results. Essential skills include a knowledge of fMRI and/or structural MRI techniques.
While this position requires some technical skill with image analysis, it is much more suited
to someone who is scientifically interested in Huntington's disease and/or in developing
biomarkers for neurodegeneration and/or in the basal ganglia than someone with a strict
methods orientation. Applications are welcomed from current Ph.D. students who will have
submitted their dissertations in the near future. The position is available for a start as soon
as June 1st 2009. Salary will be in the range $41,000 to $47,000, depending on knowledge
and experience, and will come with full health and other benefits at the University of
California. Non US citizens are welcome to apply. Please send enquiries or applications
(which must include a covering letter detailing professional objectives and interests, CV,
and the names and email addresses of three references, all together in one pdf file) to Dr.
Adam Aron, [log in to unmask], with the subject line "Postdoctoral imaging position".
