*Apologies for cross-postings* Call for Papers: RGS (IBG) Annual International Conference, August 26-28 2009, Manchester UK Session Sponsor: Postgraduate Forum Session 1 Emerging Human Geography Research - Interactive Short Papers Session 2 Emerging Physical Geography Research - Interactive Short Papers Description: The format for these sessions will be a short series of 5-minute paper presentations (approximately 10 presentations per session) summarizing a completed research project or research in progress. The presentations will be followed by a 30- to 45-minute moderated roundtable discussion among presenters and the audience. This Interactive Short Paper (ISP) format has been adopted successfully in other international forums, including annual meetings of the American Association of Geographers (AAG). It is discussion- oriented, and presenters are particularly encouraged to discuss theoretical or methodological challenges associated with their research. These sessions will provide an open and supportive environment for postgraduates or new researchers presenting their work, and will also allow them to seek in-depth feedback from an expert moderator, the audience and other presenters. They will also provide the audience with a rapid and intensive overview of emerging geography research, and the opportunity to participate in discussion.
