The Museum has been awarded the three-year STEMPOINTS Contract by STEMNET, the organisation supporting the UK's requirement for science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) qualified people at all levels, to encourage schools to take up STEM Enhancement and Enrichment activities in order to support teaching and learning in schools, thereby increasing the uptake of STEM subjects beyond GCSE.
The main function of this role will be to implement the delivery of the Science and Engineering Ambassadors (SEAs) Management contract for Greater Manchester through working alongside other internal departments, liaising with schools of all levels and to recruit scientists and engineers from various local sources to volunteer as Science and Engineering Ambassadors.
Ideally you will have a first degree preferably in a science, technology, engineering or mathematics subject and have previous project management experience. Good communication skills are needed as well as the ability to work well in a team, liaise with other internal and external departments and knowledge of MS packages. You should have a willingness to work flexible hours, work from home when required and undergo appropriate further training.
