Post-doctoral Position: MR Physics

A post-doctoral position in magnetic resonance imaging is available in
the Institute of Neuroscience for high-field structural and functional
brain imaging of Newcastle University.

The imaging laboratory is equipped with a Bruker 4.7T/60cm vertical bore
MRI research system for fMRI investigation of non-human primates and
small animals. Research groups of the Institute of Neurosciences and
Faculty of Medical Sciences focus their research on brain function,
connectivity, neuropharmacological fMRI, and neuronal diseases.

A successful applicant will work in the areas of MR physics and
methodology development with access to a Bruker 4.7T/60cm vertical bore
MR preclinical/research system. The research of the project will focus
on the development of advanced methods for high spatial/temporal
resolution nonhuman primate fMRI. Ideally, you have completed a PhD in
MR physics (or relevant fields) with working experience in correction of
EPI distortion, reduction of signal dropout using navigator echo,
combined passive and active shimming, development of special RF pulses,
and development of RF coils as required for the research.

Salary scales: RA1A, RAII (23,002 - 32,796, depending on experience)
