Hi Pernille and everyone, Adding to Michael's suggestion. Meredith Davis co-wrote Design as a Catalyst for Learning. The book explains and shows examples of where in the American educational curriculum design skills and approaches are used to support the promotion of effective learning. You can find more about the work of Davis in her profile page at NC State University. Also I recommend reading the publications on the Reggio Emilia approach to learning. Children educated under this curriculum are trained in design and artistic skills since very young (2 years old). Reggio Emilia teachers don't call the skills developed design skills, but elements of design are seen in the children's work for sure. The book Making Learning Visible could be a good start for learning about this approach.
