We give our subject librarians a separate account each called the Reviewers account.  Via our snapshot this account is enrolled in all courses for a specific school as a teaching assistant.  This role also has it's own institution role assigned to it so that when they log in they just see a Reviewer tab and a Content Collection tab.  The Reviewer tab just has a course catalogue module, some instructions and info about the Reviewer role, and the Course Search in the left hand hot link column.
Letting them browse through the catalogue reduces some overheads that would be experienced if all courses were loaded into the My Course module and makes navigation easier for this large amount of courses.  We also remove the email address from these Reviewer accounts so that they are not bombarded by emails from announcements etc...
This does mean that they have their regular staff account and a separate Reviewer account but is the only solution that we found suitable to give them the access that they required.

Our Subject librarians want access to all of the modules/courses offered by their school so that they can help the lecturer with Reading Lists management but what we dont really want to do is to enrol them on hundreds of modules/courses.


We tried autoenrol genius from VLEgenius so that they can enrol themselves on modules temporarily when required but it had the effect of slowing down access for that user so that Blackboard was totally unusable. (Has anyone else encountered and fixed this problem?)


Has anyone else managed to set up this kind of access? maybe there is another tool/building block?


I am not so concerned about limiting access just to the one school - we tried playing around with creating a system sole for the librarians but didn't manage to find a setting that would allow them to search for a module and then get into it.


Any suggestions gratefully received.
