AHRC Research Training Network in Modern Languages

 

ROME LIBRARIES AND ARCHIVES VISIT

14-15 February 2008

 

In February 2008, the Research Training Network in Modern Languages is supporting a research-training visit to Rome to introduce students to the main research libraries and archives. This trip is being organised through the Department of Italian Studies at the University of Birmingham with the collaboration of the Fondazione Basso in central Rome, and is open to Postgraduate students of British Universities. Places are limited to 10 students.

 

 

Accepted students will be awarded £80 towards their expenses. 
 

 

Closing date for applications: December 7, 2007. Award-winners will be contacted by 11th December. Successful applicants will be responsible for arranging their own flights and accommodation in Rome.

 

 

The visit will include a lecture on using the vast array of Libraries in the capital, personal guidance on which archives and libraries will be most relevant to your research and how to get the best from them, and a tour of the Biblioteca nazionale.    

 

In order for you to be eligible to apply you must be studying at a School/Department that is registered as a participating Institution of the AHRC Research Training Network in Modern Languages. If your School/Department is not yet registered, please contact me.
