Apologies for cross-listing

Two Posts in Human Geography at University of Edinburgh
We are currently advertising for two posts in Human Geography. One of
these may be at the Lecturer level; the other will be Senior Lecturer
or Reader level.
Details and links to further particulars are below.

GeoSciences: Senior Lecturer/Reader and Lecturer in Human Geography
We seek two outstanding researchers to contribute to the Human
Geography Research Group and the School of GeoSciences.

Position 1 requires a Human Geographer specialising in policy
relevant research related to one of our core themes: Relations and
Identities; Knowledges, Practices, and Policies; Development and
Power. The specific policy area is open, but we especially welcome
applicants with a focus on health, education, housing, social
welfare, science or the environment.

Position 2 is for an Economic Geographer who would strengthen
research in the Development and Power theme within HGRG and build
linkages within the School of Geosciences and/or with the College of
Humanities and Social Sciences. While all specialisations within
Economic Geography will be considered, we have a preference for
research foci on the inter-relationships between informal and formal
economies (including regulation, labour practices, or social
reproduction), the cultural economy, or development.

The selection committee has the capacity to appoint one position at
the rank of either Senior Lecturer or Reader (salary grade 9) to a
suitably-qualified candidate. The other position will be appointed as
a Lecturer (salary grade 8). Our preference is for appointment to
commence in August, 2008.

Inquires to Prof Lynn Staeheli: [log in to unmask]

Closing Date for both positions is 22 November 2007
