The inaugural conference of the Society for Islamic Archaeology &
Material Culture will be held at the University of Leeds on 17th Nov.

The Society aims to investigate and further progress the knowledge of
Islamic archaeology and Islamic material culture with a view to
disseminating the positive aspects of Islamic culture and its invaluable
contribution to history and world heritage.

It aims to work both with academics and local communities to investigate
and promote collaboration between the two.
