Fixed term contract 6 months
JE5/6 £22,450 - £29,350 (35 hrs per week) inclusive of London Weighting

Guildhall Library is looking for an enthusiastic book and paper conservator to join its team.

The Conservation section currently consists of four conservators and a conservation technician reporting to the Senior Conservator.

This is a fixed term pilot conservation project, working primarily on printed books materials held in the collections.

Candidates must hold a recognised professional qualification or equivalent and have a significant post qualification experience. Proven skills in the conservation of book and paper materials along with a broad knowledge of conservation and preservation issues are essential. We are looking for someone with the ability to work in a team as well as independently and who has excellent time management and communication skills.

Professional accreditation would be an advantage.

o       Recognised professional qualification

o       Significant relevant post qualification experience     

o       A broad knowledge of conservation and preservation issues

o       Proven skills in conserving Book and Paper collections

o       The ability to work well in a team

o       The ability to work and make decisions independently

o       Excellent time management

o       Excellent communication skills

o       Excellent I.S. skills
