Internet Archaeology is very pleased to announce the publication of The palaeochannel record in the Trent Valley UK: contributions towards cultural heritage management by Steve Baker (ARCUS) http://intarch.ac.uk/journal/issue20/baker_index.html The article discusses the results of a catchment-scale survey of the Trent Valley, one of Britain's major river systems, which has produced a rich and varied palaeochannel record. The article is supported by an online GIS allowing users to view the collected data against the backdrop of OS tile data or aerial photographs, which has therefore placed an important body of data within the cultural resource management framework for the first time. The article and underlying interactive mapping has been published with financial assistance from the English Heritage Aggregates Levy Sustainability Fund (ALSF), and coincides with the release of the related digital archive hosted by the Archaeology Data Service. regards, Judith --- Judith Winters Editor, Internet Archaeology http://intarch.ac.uk
