medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture

Dear Steve, take a look at the following ,which I found quite useful for the sort of topic you raise here,

(around p 200)

medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture

Isn't one of the most famous (and exemplary) the death of St.
Benedict, cf. Gregory the Great, Dialogi 2 c. 37 (cf. the death of
vishop Germanus ibid. c. 35 too)?!
