Southampton Statistical Sciences Research Institute University of Southampton Public Lecture: The Social Sciences and Statistics Professor Ian Diamond Chief Executive of ESRC and Chair of the Executive Group of Research Councils UK 7 February 2007 at 3.30pm Building 54 (Mathematics), Lecture Room 4A Highfield Campus University of Southampton This talk will describe the ESRC and its vision for the future, including its strategic plan, key areas for development, and how statistical methods, both new and established, are essential for the future development of the Social Sciences in the UK.
