SCIENCE Tenure-Track Assistant Professor - Comparative Politics/IR

Preferred candidates will be expected to meet the traditional
requirements of excellence in teaching, active scholarly and
professional work, and service to the University and community. In
addition, new faculty are encouraged to develop and participate in
activities that support the University's strategic plan. This plan
emphasizes three areas: a) alternative modes of instructional delivery
to include off-campus and distance learning; b) the learning process,
i.e., innovative teaching strategies and/or research on how students
learn and apply knowledge over an extended period of time; and c)
partnership with the community to enhance social, economic, and cultural

Ph.D. is required at the time of appointment.

AREA OF SPECIALIZATION:  Comparative Politics/International Relations

RANK AND QUALIFICATIONS:  Tenure-track Assistant Professor. Candidates
must hold Ph.D. at time of employment and demonstrate evidence of
teaching and research promise.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: We seek applicants with expertise in the
fields of Comparative Politics and International Relations. Successful
candidates will have teaching and research interests in the following
areas: Regional Security (East Asia), Counter-Terrorism, and
Counter-Intelligence. The successful candidate will teach a variety of
undergraduate courses in these and related areas of specialization. In
addition, the candidate may be asked to teach graduate courses. The
successful candidate will produce scholarly research and provide service
to the university and community.

SALARY: Dependent on qualifications and experience.
