medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture As regards martyr/witness, I asked which language because the relationship is the same in more languages than one. I was hoping to find out how many. It is surprisingly true in Arabic as well. Both martyr and witness have the same root. Does anyone have an example from another language? V. K.
