Hi Lara, Ros,and Howard
At the TrustDR project we would be interested in keeping in touch with
you regarding the use of any metadata for rights (IPR) that you are
considering. WE are looking the the practicality of using a range of
off-the-shelf licences (including but not restricted to creative
commons, for instance institutional derivatives of national licences
like those of JORUM and the Irish equivalent) and we are looking
specifically at learning materials.

Would be good to collaborate/share.

Best wishes
John

Hi Ros,

The OU is looking at using METS for developing a institutional
preservation policy for our course materials and will be mapping our
Enterprise Content Management systems metadata profile to MODS.

I am in the process of mapping all schemas that we feel are applicable
to us. We are happy to collaborate/work with anyone else who has an
interest in this area.

Regards

Lara

Hello Ros,

Yes we are building a system based on MODS:

We would be interested in working with you because METS is new to our
team and we would like to try to find agreements on mappings between
schemas.

I have met some people in the UK who are also interested in this area (I
am cc'ing Lara from OU - sorry for not being in touch before now!)

Thanks,

Subject: Institutional Repositories and METS/MODS

We are implementing an IR here at UCD and are inclining towards use of
METS/MODS as our metadata standard to enable us to provide high quality
metadata records.

Is there any other institution in the UK using or planning to switch to
the MODS standard for their bibliographic data?

If so, we would be very keen to get in touch and exchange information on
this.

Regards,
