     ****************************************************

Dear Colleague,

With this e-mail I kindly ask for your help, now, to
point out one or two (or perhaps three) young scholars.

Changed from earlier e-mail:

>> They should have a PhD or be finalising a PhD and should
>> preferably be under 40 years of age - exceptions will be made.

They should apply, very informally, see below, to obtain a grant
to travel to Budapest and participate in a two day very high
profile International Symposium.

This is an Academia Europaea event.

It is on "Grand Challenges in Informatics"

See and please distribute attached .pdf document.

The application should be sent s a simple e-mail to:

Dr Dines Bjorner [log in to unmask]
Dr Peter Szeredi [log in to unmask]

    PLEASE APPLY BEFORE AUGUST 20

   9. Current research interests
Preference will be given to applicants
whose interests match the topics of the
         Symposium

   Estimated travel budget
   -----------------------
   11. Cost of train or airplane, return to Budapest

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

That's all!

If approved we will grant the applicants

   * (partial or) full travel costs (see item 11.)
   * full visa costs (see item 12.)
   * full coverage of hotel, three nights, arrival 18th, dept. 21st
   * enough funds to cover all meals, 3 full days
   * funds to cover local transport

We will book hotels. If two participants from your
location are willing to share room, then that is
much preferable and would help us cover more parti-
cipant costs (incl. full travel fare).

Funding is possible due to a generous gift from
Dr. Charles Simonyi.

Please help spread this announcement + attachment
to all your colleagues.

Sincerely

Dines Bjorner and Peter Szeredi
