RESEARCH FELLOW, SCHOOL OF GEOGRAPHY, UNIVERSITY OF LEEDS
 
The School wishes to appoint a Research Fellow to work on the ESRC funded project 'Autonomous Geographies: Activism & Everyday Life in the City'.  This project is about those spaces where there is a questioning of the laws and social norms of society and a creative desire to constitute non-capitalist, collective forms of politics, identity and citizenship.

You will have, or be close to completing, a PhD in Geography or a cognate discipline or have equivalent experience.  With experience or understanding of social movement groups in the UK or abroad, you will have the ability to undertake independent research, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, good time management and the ability to meet deadlines.  An essential element of this post is travelling within the UK in order to undertake participant observation and associated research tasks.  This post is available for 2 years from 1 October 2005.
