Master's in Public Policy

 

The Center for Policy Studies (CPS) invites applications from academics working in the field of public policy to teach on the Master's in Public Policy (MPP) at CEU.

The MPP is one of the first graduate policy programs in Central and Eastern Europe. It attracts an international cohort of students with an enrollment of around 25 anticipated for the 2005-06 academic year. MPP degree specialisations include (i) fiscal decentralisation and intergovernmental relations; (ii) international public policy, and (iii) media, telecommunications and information policy.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing teaching in one of the core courses, as well as elective teaching. We are looking for a candidate who can teach one of the following core compulsory courses:

· Economics for Public Policy, or

· The Policy Process and Public Management.

In terms of elective teaching, we are particularly interested in expertise in one of the following areas (in order of preference):

· Media, information and telecommunications policy

· Global governance and public policy

· Quantitative Methods

However, we will consider other topics for elective teaching.

The candidate will also undertake a program of research and activity that contributes to the development of the Center for Policy Studies.

The successful candidate will have:

· A completed PhD. in either economics, law or political science;

· A publication record;

· A research agenda that complement the interests of CPS;

· Teaching experience and a commitment to high quality graduate education.

The position is for two years and the successful applicant must commence by September 2005.
