medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture

Dear all
I have accidentally deleted some messages without reading them, so please
forgive me if this is repetition. There is a very interesting article by
David Herlihy on naming practices in 14th and 15th c Italy (in fact,
Florence and Pistoia) which notes the increased usage of saints names from,
I think, 1400 onwards, a change from either family names (e.g., the eldest
child of the Acciaiuoli family being named Acciaiuolo, etc.), names derived
from the Lombard legacy, popular romance or descriptive/aspirational labels.

best
Catherine
