I wonder if anyone could suggest any references specific to Draught horses
in England or Europe between the 5th and 15th Centuries. Does anything show
in skeletal remains for example or is it all artifacts and artwork? I'm
interested in finding more about typical sizes or such animals and the
technology of the carts etc

I understand some wheels were found at Newstead , unfortunately the
reference I have does not state which Newstead .

I realise that some of the information is a little removed from
zooarchaeology as such, but any pointers gratefully accepted

Thanks

Mel
