A job opportunity has arisen at the Florence Nightingale Museum. The Museum is based in Lambeth and run by a friendly team of staff and volunteers. It is an exciting place to work with many developments in process. This is potentially a good starting post for someone undertaking an MA in Museum Studies or wishing to enter the profession. The post carries varied responsibilities and opportunities for much hands on experience. In August 2005 the Museum was accredited Investors in People status and places a strong emphasis on staff support and development.

You will take responsibility for helping run daily Museum operations, maintaining standards and safety, and working every Sunday, Monday and third Saturday. The role involves line management of two members of staff who work at the weekends and also involves working closely with volunteers. You shall work to the overall museum customer service standards for welcoming and assisting museum visitors and ensuring the museum runs smoothly.  Duties also involve managing and developing the museum hire programme, responsibility for visitor statistics, assisting in marketing to families and discount offers, and in undertaking such Museum duties as are reasonable and necessary. Commercial experience in marketing and sales is desireable. Friendly manner and flexibility required.

The Florence Nightingale Museum aims to be an equal opportunities employer.
