As some of you will be aware, YMLAC has been involved in an ITT partnership project funded by the Teacher Training Agency (TTA) for the past 3 years. The final phase (three) has resulted in the production of a new website: www.settingsotherthanschools.org.uk <http://www.settingsotherthanschools.org.uk/> . YMLAC has researched and piloted trainee placements in museums, libraries and archives in partnership with regional ITT Providers. This toolkit provides information from the research and pilot phases as well as practical guidance, key contact details and assessment templates. Our site provides valuable help and information for anyone considering planning placements of their own. Resources can be downloaded to help trainee teachers, museum, library and archive staff, Providers and partner schools to plan and deliver placements in 'settings other than schools' whilst generating evidence of achievement of the Standards. An interactive forum is provided, including an interactive bulletin board, for sharing skills, advice, experiences contacts and questions. For further information about the project and current developments, please contact Jael Edwards or visit the settings other than schools website: www.settingsotherthanschools.org.uk <http://www.settingsotherthanschools.org.uk/> Funded by the TTA and Yorkshire Museums, Libraries and Archives Council Jael Edwards Education and Lifelong Learning Manager 0113 394 4870 (direct) 0771 7577452 (mobile) [log in to unmask] Yorkshire Museums, Libraries and Archives Council Ground Floor, Marshall Court, 1 Marshall Street, Leeds LS11 9YP Tel: 0113 394 4840 (switchboard) Fax: 0113 243 9872 Website: www.ymlac.org.uk Subscribe here to the YMLAC E-Info service and keep up-to-date with the issues important to you! -----Original Message----- From: Blackwell Ian [mailto:[log in to unmask]] Sent: 05 July 2005 10:34 To: [log in to unmask] Subject: Adult Learning & Basic Skills - 2 North East reports now available hi all NEMLAC has recently published two reports on how the MLA sector supports adults; one on Basic Skills ('A Preferred Place of Learning') and one on adult learning, economic inclusion and employment ('Ladder to Learning & Employment') both are e-available at : http://www.nemlac.co.uk/NEMLACePubs.htm or if you want hard copies, email [log in to unmask] ian Ian Blackwell Head of Access, Learning & Skills North East Museums, Libraries & Archives Council (NEMLAC) House of Recovery Bath Lane Newcastle upon Tyne NE4 5SQ tel: 0191 222 1661 fax: 0191 261 4725 www.nemlac.co.uk To discuss, debate, discover and share what's going on in museums, libraries and archives in the North East, join the email group NEMLAAL - click on http://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/lists/NEMLAAL.html If you are visiting NEMLAC offices for a meeting, training or just a chat, please inform us beforehand if you have any access requirements. ********************************************************************** This email and any files transmitted with it are confidential and intended solely for the use of the individual or entity to whom they are addressed.
