Call for Reviewers for JISC Funding Proposals

Call for Reviewers for JISC Funding Proposals

The Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC) (http://www.jisc.ac.uk) is funded by the UK Higher and Further Education Funding Councils. JISC's mission is to provide world-class leadership in the innovative use of Information and Communications Technology to support education and research.

JISC issues a number of calls for proposals to the FE and HE community and tender documents more broadly. The reviewing process ensures that the most appropriate proposals or studies are funded and has an important role in ensuring quality standards.

If you work in an FE or HE institution and are interested in contributing to the JISC selection process by becoming a reviewer for JISC bids received in response to tenders, please complete the form at:

http://www.jisc.ac.uk/index.cfm?name=call_for_reviewers

and email it to Avalon McAllister ([log in to unmask]) by Friday 25th June 2004 at the latest.

Typically, being a reviewer will involve marking up to ten proposals for each bidding process using a standard marksheet. Guidance is provided to reviewers on completing the marksheet and awarding marks.  JISC is not able to pay for the time of volunteer referees but will pay any travel and subsistence costs associated with any review panel meeting required.

For further information about the JISC please see the JISC Strategy 2004-2006 at http://www.jisc.ac.uk/index.cfm?name=jisc_strategy_news_310304
