Yes, that approach would be ok - using the command line calls for fixed effects analyses in previous email list mailings. Note though that if the point is to end up combining these anlayses across various subjects in a mixed effects analysis then you probably don't need to combine the data at this point - you can probably just put it into one larger design when you have all subjects' data.
