A PINING animal lover says the Data Protection Act is stopping him from
finding his missing cat Ginger.
Llantwit Major town councillor Gwyn John, 58, has not seen his beloved
tomcat since he disappeared on January 4.
Fearing the worst for Ginger, Mr John was overjoyed when he discovered the
cat had been handed in to the RSPCA a month later.
But his happiness turned sour when he discovered Ginger had been given to a
new owner at a secret location.
The charity is now refusing to tell Mr John where Ginger is because it
claims it would be breaching the terms of the Data Protection Act.
