I've just had a question which is completely out of my field of knowledge, so I hope I can draw on all you experts out there! A student is writing a dissertation on 17th & 18th century battle plans (there is a collection in the Typography Department here) and wants some literature/background. I have only found very general info. Has anyone any pointers?
