http://www.ceu.hu/echo/index.html Senior and Junior Fellowships This program supports Research Fellowship at CEU lasting from one to six months. The program is designed to increase exchange between scholars of the region and Central European University, and also to promote original research which can be of practical benefit to a particular country or region. The outcome of a Fellowship at CEU should be either published original work in a particular Social Science or Humanities discipline, or the provision of research that will be of practical relevance and use to contemporary problems. Whilst at CEU, Fellows will present one Lecture to their host Department or Programme and one Public Lecture for the broader CEU Community. If appropriate, Fellows can also be given the opportunity to teach up to two hours per week to CEU students. Fellows are required to be in residence at CEU for the duration of their Fellowship. The Fellowship program is divided into two categories: Junior and Senior. Both types of Fellowship receive travel costs to/from Budapest or Warsaw (at the rate), accommodation during the period of the Fellowship, and a monthly stipend. For 2002, Junior Fellows will receive $750 per month stipend, and Senior Fellows will receive $1500 per month. Application Forms with Criteria for Applicants in both categories are available from the SEP Office, National Soros Foundation Offices and electronically (see Application Forms below). Applications for a Fellowship can be received and considered at almost anytime during the year. CEU will not accept Fellows during August or the Christmas period due to the limited availability of professors and access to research materials during vacation. Applications are evaluated by the relevant CEU department and then by the External Programmes Committee of CEU. This Committee meets once a month (except during the Summer Vacation).
