Perceived wisdom is that donkeys were introduced by
the Romans. However, using my new identification methods, I have found that
a few were present in the late pre Roman Iron Age, probably traded from the
continent so Roman contact is still the mechanism of introduction.

Can anyone tell me when donkeys were first
introduced into Britain?
