To show what is happening here over 50% of medics are now female. At some medical schools the figure is far higher. This is happening throughout the professions because of the way girls are outscoring boys in exams thus securing the coveted places. It is still early days yet and it will be twenty years before the effect works its way properly through the system. THe restriction up to now for women getting the top jobs and top pay is the years they take out to have children, often working parttime for a period. But I expect things to change here.
