Seminar on Migration and the Elderly

Oxford Institute of Ageing
Oxford University

The Institute will be holding a seminar series under the general title of
"Migration and the Elderly" in Michaelmas Term, 2003. We are looking for
contributors currently involved in research on this topic, or whose research
contains materials on the elderly. Suitable topics may range across a wide
range of issues including refugees, inter-generational networks, social
exclusion, health, ethnic and cultural relations. The convener is
particularly interested to find contributions in the area of refugee
studies. The topic is generally very under-researched. We expect that the
seminar will provide a good opportunity for researchers who are not working
specifically on population ageing, but whose findings are relevant to the
subject, to develop a potentially important aspect of their work. The
convener will be very happy to discuss any questions. Please contact:
Philip Kreager, Senior Research Fellow, Oxford Institute of Ageing, at
