Dear colleague, _OCLC Systems & Services_ recently published an article on Dublin Core metadata implementation. Banski, Erika. (2002) "Implementation of Dublin Core at the Universitgy of Alberta Libraries," OCLC Systems & Services, vol. 18, no.3, pp: 130-138. Erika is the German/Slavic Librarian and Principal Cataloger at the University of Alberta Libraries, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Her article describes how Alberta Libraries have organized the "Alberta Folklore and Local History" collection using the Dublin Core metadata scheme. She explains metadata needs for describing archival collection and covers a detailed metadata encoding structure, the metadata authority guidelines, and the use of controlled vocabulary. _OCLC Systems & Services_ is a refereed and quaterly publication with an international readership.
