I searched the major treatises of Augustine and Gregory with the most perfect ease, but unfortunately did not come up with the quotation my old notes attributed to these great men. Perhaps I'll put the passage up on the list and see if anyone identifies it. I did not look to see if Columbia has CETEDOC but will check it out.
