Le culte de saint PETROC en Bretagne armoricaine doit surtout à l'honneur
que lui rendait l'abbaye de Saint-Méen-de Gaël (diocèse de Saint-Malo). En
ce lieu reposait quelques reliques du saint de Cornwall (dont les restes
principaux se trouvaient à Bodmin, d'autres à Exeter, don du roi
Aethelstan)). L'antique monastère breton fêtait saint Pétroc au 4 juin,
ainsi dans le recueil connu sous le nom d' "Obituaire de Saint-Méen" (BHL
6639, Paris BnF lat. 9889, XVIème s.), lequel contient aussi une "vita
Petroci". Il y reçoit 12 leçons "cum hystoria propria", et une autre
célébration au 4 septembre, sans octaves.
