I don't want to throw a spanner in the works, but New Year's Day in the
Julian Calendar was March 25th. Therefore, if Easter day 1157 was March
31st, the previous Quadragesima Sunday would seem to be February 17th,
1156. Are you sure you're working with the right year here?
