I am currently undertaking a project looking at how heavy metals behave in different soil types. More specifically, I am looking into the availability of the heavy metals once in the soil, and the factors that determine the availability of the metals to both the atmosphere and groundwater etc. I would be very grateful if someone could point me in the right direction in terms of literature and so on (bearing in mind that I am not a geologist or chemist, so simple reading would be beneficial).
