medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture

Dear List Members,

A friend has, with considerable effort, restored and almost completed the
refurbishing of a 12th century private house in France.

An authentic 12th-century house blessing would be in order, but was there
such a thing in this period for domestic architecture? There are rubrics
for consecrating churches, blessing bells, etc., but does anyone know of an
early house blessing? Or is this post-Reformation?

                                                                --John Howe, Texas Tech
