State of the Sector Workshop 13 December 2001 This event examines the current changes in Higher Education and explores the need for developments to support tutors and students in those changes. It aims to involve new tutors in the identification and solution to pedagogical problems and to promote confidence in teaching practice. The event will promote teaching practice in Art, Design and Communication Higher Education as a professional activity and will encourage reflective practice. Although this event is being delivered on behalf of ADC-LTSN, the content of the programme is suitable across the HE sector as it will explore developments in HE that are significant to all of us. The consequences of the Widening Participation agenda, the Special Needs and Disability act 2001 as well as explaining what is meant by an outcomes based approach to assessment will all be addressed. New members of teaching staff from any subject area are welcome to join with us for this topical event. For more information about the event and a programme for the day, visit the ADC website events pages at http://www.brighton.ac.uk/adc-ltsn/events.htm or contact Peter Playdon at Coventry University, [log in to unmask] to book a place. --------------- LTSN Subject Centre for Art, Design & Communication University of Brighton 68 Grand Parade Brighton BN2 2JY Tel/Fax: 01273 643119 WWW: www.bton.ac.uk/adc-ltsn
