RE: films
It's the National Film Board in Canada. Their Studio D did a series called the women and Spiritruality Trilogy. with music by Loreena McKennitt. The series includes Goddess Remembered, the Burning Times ( on the medieval witch burning) and Full Circle (on women's spiritualities as they are expressed outside the mainstream).

Check with the Canadian Film Society (I may have that wrong, it's a government sponsored Film production company)  They did a trio of films within the last 8 years, I think, called the Goddess Remembered.  Surely someone on this list can come up with better specifics.  They're quite well done.
