Stratos Inc, an environmental consulting firm based in Ottawa,

the position of Prototype Carbon Fund (PCF)/Kyoto Protocol 
Training Coordinator. This is a three-year contract position funded 
by the Government of Canada through its contribution to the 
Prototype Carbon Fund (PCF) plus program. This position will
be based in Washington, DC at the World Bank Institute, the research 
and training arm of the World Bank. Stratos has been asked to identify
a list of qualified candidates for this position. The Training Coordinator

NSPIRG WANTS EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, NOVA SCOTIA

The Nova Scotia Public Interest Research Group (NSPIRG)

DALHOUSIE UNIVERSITY WANTS ATMOSPHERE/
OCEANS MODELER

Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, invites applications 
for a Research Associate to work on the development of a coupled 
atmosphere/ocean/ice modelling system for the eastern Canadian 
Shelf. Applicants must have a Ph.D in Physical Oceanography or 
Dynamic Meteorology with, preferably, a minimum of two years 
experience working with numerical models of the ocean or atmosphere. 
The applicants should have strong mathematical and computational 
skills and be willing to continue the implementation and testing of 
a z-level primitive-equation ocean model and couple this ocean 
model to an ice model and an atmosphere general circulation 
model. The successful applicant will work as part of a research 
team and be responsible for research activities including application 
of the coupled modelling system to the eastern Canadian shelf, 
algorithm design and publication of the results. Salary will be

the Climate and Transportation Policy Group of the 
Transportation and Regional Programs Division (TRPD) 
of the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA),

with some international and transportation experience. The person 
would help to analyze, develop, and encourage the adoption of 
environmental strategies to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, 
criteria air pollutants, and other pollutants related to the transportation 
sector. To achieve these objectives, the US EPA conducts education 
and outreach programs; works on national and international transportation

and local efforts to better integrate transportation and environmental

currently available in the UK under the Coupled Ocean Atmosphere 
Processes and European Climate (COAPEC) programme. COAPEC 
is a five year programme, funded by the UK Natural Environment 
Research Council. The aim of COAPEC is to determine the impact on 
climate, especially on European climate, of the coupling between the 
Atlantic Ocean and the atmosphere, including the influence of El Nino
