I have already had a meeting with Hewlett Packard about this very subject, as I felt that the electronic record should include all digital data about a patient, including trended data, radiographs, ECGs and digital pictures. They say it can't yet be done (!) meaning that they can't get it through the FDA - which of course is irrelevant to us, but not to them.
