Precisely, except that he was originally Cadmus, a legendary Phoenician 
prince in the Bronze Age.  He became a farmer (George) when he planted the 
dragon's teeth and up from the soil sprang an army.  He is also given credit 
for founding the Greek city of Thebes and bringing the alphabet to Europe, 
but that is a different story.
