Re: Dog interment

I suppose you are aware of the dog remains recorded in many 
of the chambered tombs in Orkney.  A wide range of animal remains 
were recovered from Quanterness which included dog.  Dog was part of 
a group of subsidiary species at Isbister which were mainly 
from immature animals. Twenty four dog skulls were found at Cuween 
Hill and seven at Burray.  Dogs appear to be a special case 
especially where the skulls have been carefully preserved.
