EARL: The Consortium for Public Library Networking; UK Office of Library
and Information Networking (UKOLN);The Library Association and Resource:
The Council for Museums, Archives and Libraries would like to invite you
to:

Breaking into Europe: Participation and Partnership Opportunities

This prestigious event brings together the Libraries, Museums and Archives
sectors to explore current developments and related funding opportunities
available in Europe.

Aims

*Exchange experiences between parties involved in EC-funded projects
*Widen awareness of EC programmes and encourage greater participation in
further funding initiatives
*Expand cross-sectoral involvement
*Disseminate the results of this event to inform future funding
applications.

Speakers

The speakers have been carefully chosen to reflect the cross-sectoral
focus. Chris Batt, Director of Learning & Information Society Team of
Resource will chair the event, along with presentations from:

*Ian Pigott  - Principal Administrator (The EC Information Society
 Directorate, Cultural Heritage  Applications)
*Barbara Buckley - International Policy Adviser (Resource)
*Mark Taylor - Chief Executive (Museums Association)

Issues

The speakers will cover a range of issues including:

*Overview of the European Commission's Fifth Framework Programme (FP5)
*Archives Developments: an EC perspective
*Setting the challenge - participation, partnership, opportunity.

Interactive Sessions

There will be breakout sessions to encourage interaction between delegates
looking at:

*Putting a bid together
*Essentials of project management
*Building Trans-National Partnerships
