Dear Marcus,
while the SPM12 longitudinal toolbox is using the deformations between the time points CAT12 is based on separate extraction of GM/WM maps for each time point. Thus, there is no opportunity to estimate the Jacobian determinant between the time point.
Please check the chapter about "Comparison to SPM12 longitudinal registration" in the CAT12 manual for a more detailed comparison between both approaches and their preferred application.
