Dear Sharron,
Our file naming conventions are published on our website at, http://www.recordsmanagement.ed.ac.uk/InfoStaff/RMstaff/RMprojects/PP/FileNameRules/FileNameRules.htm
(or http://tinyurl.com/nv463).
The core document is a list of 13 rules. There is a 'cover sheet' explaining who should use the rules and why they should be used. Each rule is supported by an explanation and some examples. The idea is to have a short page of rules, but that there is more detail for those who want it.
I hope this helps a little.
Best wishes,
Anne

Subject: Naming Conventions
Dear All,
Does anyone currently have documented naming conventions for specific documents such as letters, minutes, etc. Am working in an NHS Organisation and not sure whether to tackle naming conventions as detailed as per document type or whether to have just general principles of good practice / guidance do's and don'ts
Welcome views and opinions
Thanks
Sharron
